When you and I first met a little over a year ago, the circumstances were such that I was very unhappy with our computer support services provider. I told you at the time that I had worked with two “managed care” computer support vendors and was extremely happy with the first and extremely unhappy with the second. I would have stayed with the first vendor had they not attempted to increase the price of their services in the middle of our contract. At the time we met, I was concerned that our systems could fail at any time. Being that we are in a disaster services business and need to be available not only 24/7, but in the event of a local or regional disaster, we felt that we were very vulnerable. Together we laid out a plan to fix what was broken, maintain what was not, update and upgrade hardware and software, design plans to be implemented in the event of disasters, and insure adequate and complete backups of all our systems, while at the same time supporting our growing staff.
As an administrator, I tend to be a micro manager. Not only that, our computer systems were and are one of my pet projects and I know them intimately. Most of our fifty employees would come directly to me for any computer related issues. It would be and it was difficult for me to “let go” and turn the reigns over to someone else.
Slowly but surely you familiarized yourself with our protocols, our people, and most importantly, me. You took over all of the day-to-day problems and worked with me to strategize and implement systems and protocols using the most current technologies so that we would rarely, if ever, have any downtime. We set in place redundancies and backups and tested same so that even in the event of failures, we would be able to operate. I started referring all computer related issues to your firm and they were rapidly, professionally, and courteously addressed and handled.
As we look into the future, I am pleased that you are part of our team. Your ability to handle all of the computer related issues has enabled me to focus on other facets of our business… those that can more clearly generate income for our firm.
